Breaking News!

MOST POPULAR GAY PODCAST, NOT PODCASTING, GOES FROM BREAK TO HIATUS!

Hey, I thought it was funny! Jim and I have had to face the fact that we have been too busy and the cost to great for us to bring the podcast back right now. So, after the longest "break" ever recorded for a podcast, we are now on hiatus. We do hope to come back at some point with a new name and show. So, for right now, we must say thanks to our many, er few, er couple fans and say thanks for your support.

HOWEVER: I am all over twitter with some of the best comedy in America today. It has been said by Brian Hurlburt that Brian Hurlburt is the greatest. Brian Hurlburt also said Brian Hurlburt was very funny and a great guy. Brian Hurlburt loves Brian Hurlburt. So, follow him @brianinrochestr.

Peace

A Little Bit Of Catch Up

Sorry it has been a little while. Jim and I are still unpacking from the big move. Where to put everything I have no idea.
Right now I am in Albany NY for New York State Pride Agenda working on GLBT senior issues. I have a full day today of meetings and a half day the next. I have met some very nice people in the community and have learned more about the fight toward gay rights. It is nice not to be in my own little world and spreading my wings. It is nice to know you are not alone.
Well, we have lost another one. RIP to Patrick Swayze. He will be missed. I would have to say my favorite movies with him were Ghost and Point Break. We have lost a lot of stars this year.
I guess that is it for now. I have to eat breakfast before the meetings start.
Talk again soon!

Summer and Pride in Rochester

Hi all,

It is the middle of August and it just is starting to feel like summer. The weather has been lousy but perhaps this will mean an late winter. The 70s in December sounds good to me.

So pride has come and gone here in Rochester and it was a huge success. I think it is awesome that our city mayor is very supportive of the community. The first event they have is a pride flag raising at city hall. The flag is huge. Than, all around downtown, the city puts pride flags up on the light poles. Does your city do that?

The pride parade had 12,000 spectators and 1,000 particpants. The "after party" had 3,500 in attendance, all dancing the night away. The next day was the pride picnic which had 2,500 people come to share food and fun. The fun this year was a dog show, country line dancing, games galore, poetry reading and a classic car show. Many of the 60 plus LGBT organizations in our area had informational booths. The gay youth were there as well. Did you know Rochester has over 400 kids in the gay youth group. They are getting great support. Every public school here has a gay/straight alliance.

I am proud to be gay and proud to be living in Rochester, New York.
Hooray!

Couch Potato Favorites

Have we all been enjoying the new "Torchwood"? Love it!
What are some of my other favorites to watch? I am really enjoying "Royal Pains" and "Warehouse 13". Be sure to check your local listings yourself, as I don't get paid by TV Guide, so why should I do all the work. Ha!

Moving Day

Whew, moving day has come and gone and now time for unpacking. Of course, the big screen had to be set up first and than the computer. What's the next thing? FOOD. Remember when that used to be a priority.
It took us 14 hours to move everything and now doing set up and unpacking. We are tired but happy. I say another week of unpacking than will be all set. Next up is back to podcasting so be watching for it.

Good Mourning!

Well, tuesday morning we say goodbye to Michael Jackson. It is sad to see him go, as he was a human being, but just look at all the hoopla. Is it to much? I think and wish we could recognize others in the same way. Ask yourself, what will we do when Richard Simmons leaves this earth someday? Pass the cookies please.

Have I Been On Mute All This Time

Hey everyone. It is Brian and Jim and we are on our way back. We are starting up the blog today (promise to blog tons) and soon back to podcasting.
It has been very busy. We are in the process of moving to a better apartment. The stairs were getting to us, so it is first floor from now on. Plus we get the bonus of a patio and a washer and dryer, so sweet.
What rhymes with sweet? Tweet of course, and we are on twitter. It is brianinrochestr so please follow me. I know you will. You can also email me at mygaytwocents@gmail.com. Let me know what you would like us to talk about on our comeback podcast.
Speaking of the podcast, I would say two weeks from now. I am working on the studio at the new place. We complete our move July, 11, 2009.
I guess this is a good start. More to come so return often. See ya!
